Alice Nebeker Larsen, a much loved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend returned to her heavenly home on December 30, 2025. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Alice was born on September 7, 1947 in Brigham City Utah, a daughter of Byron Perry and Helen Smith Nebeker. She had a happy childhood growing up in Willard and helping her parents on their farm. She enjoyed canning fruit with her mom and keeping her Dad's company in the barn. She loved to sing her heart out to him as he milked the cows. She attended Willard Elementary and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1965. She continued her education at Weber State University receiving her bachelor's degree in Sociology and Child Development.
While singing in church one Sunday her beauty and sweet alto voice captured the heart of Lavell Larsen. In that very moment Lavell was inspired to know that Alice was to be his eternal companion. He called her that evening and arranged to take her out on a date. Their love grew and they were sealed for time and all eternity on September 12, 1968, in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a sweet and wonderful wife. As a couple they enjoyed attending the temple, golfing, hiking, and sporting events. Their marriage of fifty five years was a testament of sacrifice, devotion, dedication and eternal love.
As children started to join their family Alice delighted in motherhood. Her family grew to include seven children and she treasured each one. She was a devoted mother and created a golden childhood for her children. Her home was filled with love, happiness and family time. She was always there for her children as they walked through the door after school, there was always a home cooked meal around her table, there were stories read on her lap, and Family Home Evenings and prayer in her living room. Her essential work on this earth was to care for, teach, and love her family.
Her happiness continued to grow as each of her twenty five grandchildren and three great grandchildren joined her family. Her most joyous moments were when her family was gathered together. Her grandchildren loved to gather for sleepovers, holiday parties, and Family Home Evenings. She loved to attend all their events and special moments. She loved each grandchild and created special memories with each of them.
She will be remembered for her thoughtful gifts and birthday cards with heartfelt messages written each year. She always said that being a mom and grandma was the greatest blessing in her life.
Alice found joy in the simple things of life and delighted in nature. She enjoyed watching birds and wildlife and loved the smell of lilac bushes. She also enjoyed watching cowboy shows and Lawrence Welk. She enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She delighted in going on vacations with Lavell and their kids and grandkids. She especially loved souvenir shopping for her Grandkids. When traveling she always took 2 suitcases, one for her clothes and one for her Grandkids’ souvenirs.
Alice had many special talents that she freely shared with others. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a peacemaker. She was a good listener and a sweet friend to everyone. She loved others, was kind and always had a smile to share. Alice had an unwavering testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served faithfully in many callings throughout her life including being a visiting teacher, a den mother, activity day leader, compassionate service leader, ward choir director, and Relief Society counselor with her favorite being the primary chorister. She had a special place in her heart for little children and primary music. She was very compassionate and was always willing to help others with rides to and from church, meals, visits or anything that was needed. She had a love for the gospel that brought much peace and happiness into her life. Her greatest pursuit was to teach the gospel to her family in word and action, be a good example to them, and to have an eternal family. She was a special Daughter of God that we were privileged to call our wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and will forever be in our hearts. Our greatest desire is to remember all that she has taught us, follow her example, and remember the importance of eternal families.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, her in-laws Wallace and Melva Larsen, her sister Jean, her son in law Cameron, and her grandson Jace. She is survived by her children, David (Sarah), Douglas (Tena), Candice (Brian) Coburn, Daryl (Ashley), Allison Larsen, Janeen (Scott) Neil-Jensen, and Jennie Larsen. Her siblings Barbara Stowell and Kent Nebeker. She will also be indelibly missed by her grandchildren Josh (Heather), Jayden, Leah, Jesse, Destry, Austin, Adam (Haylee), Jenna, Mitchell (Jill), Brycen, Ambrie, Kamri, Lilly, Griffin, Kohl, Makenzee (Jordan), Dylan, Wyatt, Cache, Brooks, Anistyn, Stockton, Paislee, Saidee, Damian, Myah, and Zoey.
