BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Anna Marie Asay, 84, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from a heart attack at the Brigham City Community Hospital. She was born on February 4, 1933 in Lovell, Wyoming a daughter of Ira and Dagmar Shumway Johnson. Anna Marie graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City, UT. She married the love of her life, Richard Aaron Asay on February 19, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death August 25, 2010. They moved to Brigham City, where they had three children: Jolee (Randy) Thompson; Alan (Jan) Asay; Cinde (John) Ragona; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Carol Donley and two sister-in-law's, Jewel Johnson and Irene Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; six brothers, Lee, Art, Ira, Rob, Ken, and Ted Johnson. Anna Marie was an avid seamstress, knitter and quilter. She graduated from beauty school and has enjoyed many interesting jobs in her spare time. She also has enjoyed traveling all of her life. She and her late husband traveled extensively sharing that love with family and friends. Anna Marie and Richard served a mission at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, at the Ogden LDS Temple and a mission to Brussels, Belgium. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City LDS 14th Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Drive. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, March 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
