Carol Simonsen Braegger

Carol Simonsen Braegger, 77, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, passed away peacefully at home from natural causes on the morning of Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Born February 26, 1948, in Ogden, Utah, she was the daughter of Frederick H. Simonsen and Viola Syphers.

A 1967 graduate of Ogden High School, Carol pursued a career in education. She served as a teacher’s aide in the Weber School District and later as a braillist at the Utah State School for the Deaf and Blind, retiring in 2010.

On October 6, 1973, Carol married her sweetheart, Steve Allen Braegger, in Ogden; their union was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple.

Carol trained and showed champion dogs, loved scenic drives, especially to Yellowstone, and enjoyed playing violin.

She was survived by her devoted husband, Steven Allen Braegger; six sons: Warren (Cortney), Joshua, Dana (Laura), Christopher (Jennifer), Joel, and Daniel; 19 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dana Simonsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Providence Cemetery, 925 River Heights Blvd, River Heights, UT 84321.
