Dawn Marie Wetzel Scothern

Dawn Marie Wetzel Scothern, 61, passed away unexpectedly at the Ogden Regional Medical Center on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

She was born on May 2, 1964 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Bernell Edwin and Ramona Jean Permann Wetzel. 

Dawn graduated from Box Elder High School in 1982.

She married Dave Scothern on July 16, 1982 in Ogden, Utah.

Dawn worked at the Boys and Girls club, custodial work and editing for a newspaper.  She worked as the office manager at R and K Marble before they sold.  She enjoyed doing crafts, stamp collecting, camping and being with her family.  She loved volunteering with the girl scouts, cub scouts and boy scouts. 

She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughter, Amber Hartwick; grandson Wyatt Hartwick; four siblings, Lela (Dave) Ross of Brigham City, Gary (Janice) Wetzel of Willard, Joyce (Terry) Pritchard of Willard and David (Gasdaly) Wetzel of Brigham City. 

She was proceeded in death by her father, Bernell Wetzel and her older sister Linda Wetzel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah.  

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 6 - 8 p.m.   at the same location.  

Interment will be in the Willard Precinct Cemetary.
