Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Glenn McKell Beckstrom, 87, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at his home in Plain City, Utah.
He was born on May 18, 1938 in Spanish Fork, Utah, a son of William Robertson and Della Nielsen Beckstrom. He moved to the Salt Lake area with his parents and was reared and educated there. He graduated from Granite High School. Glenn attended a semester at University of Utah.
Glenn met his sweetheart Sara Nadine Curtis playing tennis at Granite High School. Later they were married on June 26, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Glenn served in the US National Guard and was called up to serve at Ft. Lewis in Washington State during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Glenn worked at Hercules, Grand Central, Dolly Madison and became a letter carrier for the United State Postal Service where he loved his career. He was beloved by many of his residents on his routes.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities and served faithfully in every calling that was extended to him. Glenn and Sara served in the Switzerland Mission from 2004 to 2005.
Glenn loved to run marathons with his sons, he also loved tennis and golf. His favorite pastime was being with his family. He was just totally and completely in love with his sunshine, Sara! To whom he would often sing you are my sunshine!
Surviving is his wife, Sara; five children: Curtis Glenn (Kathy) Beckstrom; Shawna (Alan) Faulkner; Scott David (Dianna) Beckstrom; Jaren Michael (Hiromi) Beckstrom; Marc William (Megan) Beckstrom; 18 grandchildren, CJ; Jeremy; Christopher; Cassandra; Rachel; Jessica; Tara; Daniel; Spencer; Kyle; Alex; Adam; Miki; Hunter; Haylie; Issac; Jackson; Zander and 11 ½ great grandchildren: Soren; Emorie; Jude; Thomas; Carter; Breckin; Maile; Kenleigh; Maci; Fynnlee; Benjamin and baby girl on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gordon McKell Beckstrom and Kent McKell Bekstrom.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Plain City Meadows Ward, 2280 No 3600 W., Plain City, Utah. Both viewings will be held at the Plain City Meadows Ward, Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
Interment will be in the Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded by the VFW Honor Guard.
