Nuestro amado esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo, hermano, tío y amigo, Javier B. Barrientos, de 78 años, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar, rodeado de su familia, el domingo 22 de febrero de 2026.
Nació el 5 de enero de 1948 en El Ejido, Camargo, Tamaulipas, México, hijo de Agustín y Barbarita Villarreal Barrientos.
Javier se casó con su novia, María Elvira López, el 24 de julio de 1971 en Camargo, Tamaulipas, México.
En 1979, se mudaron a Brigham City, Utah, para trabajar y criar a sus cuatro hijos.
Era miembro de la Iglesia Católica de San Enrique en Brigham City, Utah.
Trabajó en diversos campos, incluyendo la ganadería y la conducción de camiones.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Javier B. Barrientos, 78, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
He was born on January 5, 1948, in El Ejido, Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Agustín and Barbarita Villarreal Barrientos.
Javier married his sweetheart, María Elvira López, on July 24, 1971, in Camargo, Tamaulips, Mexico.
In 1979, they moved to Brigham City, Utah, to work and raise their four children.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Brigham City, Utah.
He worked in various fields, including ranching and truck driving.
Javier loved watching the Atlanta Braves, dancing, fishing, horseback riding, and enjoying nature. His greatest pride was ensuring his cars were clean and well-maintained.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; his four children, Victor Hugo Barrientos; Javier G. (Corrine) Barrientos; Mirta (Roberto) Ortiz; and Ivett (Steve) Cordova; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his seven siblings, Alonso Barrientos, Juan Barrientos, Augustín Barrientos, Martín Barrientos, Adrianna (Vita) Ríos, Bárbara Correa, and María del Refugio (Cucita) García. He was preceded by his parents and four brothers and one sister, Daniel Ángel, Abel, Augustin and Daniel Angel Barrientos and Ana Barrientos.
The Christian Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, 380 S. 200 E., Brigham City, UT.
The vigil and rosary will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The viewing will follow the vigil from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Home, 634 E 200 S., Brigham City, Utah.
Interment will take place at Brigham City Cemetery.
