Jeremy Shipp

September 24, 2001 — July 29, 2018

Our loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, teammate and friend, Jeremy Thomas Shipp, 16, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 29, 2018. He was born on September 24, 2001 in Layton, Utah, a son of Jason and Jenyfer Kearl Shipp. Jeremy was a member of the Perry 7th Ward and was planning on serving an LDS mission and attending BYU. He had a strong testimony of his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He was a student at Box Elder High School where he was a standout Lacrosse player, talented theatre and choir student and member of the Productions Company. Jeremy was talented and a natural at everything he tried. Jeremy loved playing Lacrosse, singing, playing his guitar, CrossFit, mountain biking, hunting, music, wakeboarding, and pickleball. Jeremy's greatest passion was playing Lacrosse, the creator's game. He was a member of the Box Elder High Lacrosse team, where he was an exceptional player and leader. His coaches and teammates called him the "Fox", because of his ability to sneak past the defense. He was a state champion and lettered both as a freshman and sophomore. Jeremy always pushed himself to be better. Because of his drive he spent countless hours in his gym, Box Elder Elite Fitness, with his Dad, pushing himself to be bigger and stronger. This summer he hit personal records on every lift and got his first ring muscle up. Jeremy shared his Mom's passion for the musical theatre. His exceptional talent led him to numerous leading roles, including the Mayor of Whoville in Seussical Junior, Ryan Evans in High School Musical, Mayor George Shinn of the Music Man, a Gypsy in the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and was cast to be a spy in this year's fall production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Jeremy was a natural musician and taught himself to play the guitar and the harmonica. He had a beautiful singing voice. While working at Perry Ice he used this talent and his rugged good looks to get the most tips out of all the employees, by singing and playing his Ukulele. The thing we loved and were most proud of about Jeremy was his kindness and compassion for everyone and for the love he so freely offered. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Jeremy will be forever in our hearts. Surviving are his parents, two brothers, Steven and Ryan Shipp; grandparents, Jeri Rae Huffman and Patti Jo and Kent Holsten and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Darrel Bard Shipp and Steven Ross Kearl and one aunt, Jeannae Diann Shipp. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Perry LDS Stake Center, 685 West 2250 South. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City and a viewing at the church from 9:00 to 9:40 a.m. on Friday. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. Leave condolences at www.gfc-utah.com
