Jerry Cook December 9, 1952 – May 20, 2025
On May 20, 2025, our strong and loving father was reunited with the love of his life, our mother, Shannon. Jerry Cook was born in Ogden on December 9, 1952, to Francis Grant and Carol Lynn Cook. Jerry grew up in Willard, Utah, with his siblings: Judy Chlarson, Janice Richardson, and Andy Cook.
He met his loving and loyal companion in 1971, and they were married on April 14, 1972, in Brigham City, Utah. Together, they welcomed four children into their family: Holly (David) Heath, baby son Heath Cook, Vickie (Tim) Crozier, and Jerie Lynn (Troy) Dodge. Their family continued to grow with 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a man of many self-taught skills—hardworking, dependable, and honest. He was rarely idle, always moving, building, or fixing until illness eventually slowed him down. He worked in construction and was later employed by Thiokol. Where he received the Silver Snoopy Award in 2000. After retiring early, he and Shannon dedicated themselves to running the family business, Five C’s Mobile Home Park & Storage, a labor of love they managed together for many years.
Jerry had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He proudly captained the boat at family reunions—often with a mischievous grin as he tried to toss riders off the water tube. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. One of his proudest achievements was the 1923 T-Bucket hot rod that he and Shannon built together. They traveled far and wide to car shows, earning several impressive awards, and they were always eager to share their joy with others.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was a regular supporter at their sporting events. Driving the T-Bucket, he and Shannon became known as the Grandparents with the “Cool Car.”
Though Jerry had a tough exterior, those who knew him best saw his soft and loving heart. This side of him became especially clear in the tender care he gave Shannon in her final years. His devotion was quiet but unwavering, a true reflection of his character.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Carol Cook; Siblings: Judy (Ted) Chlarson, Janice (Jerry) Richardson, Andy (Cynthia) Cook, sisters-in-law Linda St. Clair and Carol Southworth; brother-in-law Roy Cottam; his two children Holly (David) Heath, Jerie Lynn (Troy) Dodge; son-in-law Tim Crozier; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shannon; his father, Grant Cook; his in-laws, Wesley and Della Barber; his son, Heath Cook; his daughter, Vickie Crozier; and two great-grandchildren, Tinsley and Cohen Dodge.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the kind neighbors who supported Jerry after Shannon’s passing. Your check-ins, meals, friendship, and genuine care brought him comfort during a difficult time, and your compassion will never be forgotten.
