Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8th, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She faced every challenge in life with courage and dignity. Being blind from macular degeneration was the hardest of all yet she got up, dressed every day and took care of herself and her family. She was a friend to all she met.
She was born on January 10th, 1932 in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter of Othello Bodily and Almeada Jane Hadfield Stokes.
Joyce married Earl Wendell Harmon on November 29th, 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1999.
Joyce graduated from Box Elder High School in 1950.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, belonging to the Brigham City 8th Ward.
Joyce worked for the telephone company for many years. She retired in 1982 after 30 years of service.
She loved playing Bridge, and traveling. She was a big fan of her family and friends.
Surviving are two children: Renee Harmon (Steve) Cazier of Layton, UT, Scott Earl Harmon of Jackson, Wyoming; siblings Alan (Ann) Stokes of West Jordan, Utah and Colleen Hamson of Brigham City, Utah. Grandkids: Nate Cazier, Marcus Cazier, Andrew Cazier, Aly Harmon and Pace Harmon. She loved Steve and Angie Blanchard's children as her own as well.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell, her granddaughter, Crystal Cazier and one brother, Dallas Stokes.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 10:00 am at Brigham City Cemetery, 495 S 500 E.
