Lois Jensen

April 4, 1929 — July 18, 2018

Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Lois Mae Craner Jensen, 89 passed away peacefully on July 18, 2018 at the Gables Assisted Living in Brigham City, Utah. She was born April 4, 1929 in Oakley Idaho. The daughter of John and Laura Craner. Lois graduated from Box Elder High School and married Blaine Jensen on June 8, 1947. They were blessed with 5 wonderful children: Lola Jean, Brian, John, Shirlene & Rod. She was also blessed with 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren (one on the way), and 5 great-great grandchildren (one on the way). Lois enjoyed spending time with family and always wanted to go for rides to her kids place in Sourdough. In her early years, Lois spent time making clothing for theater shows. Lois was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. She was a primary teacher in Mantua for over 25 years. She also held many other callings. Lois was owner of the 1st Step Day Care Center in Brigham for many years where she made many memories with children and their parents. To this day we still share those memories. Lois was second mom to many kids in Mantua as she raised her family. Lois was able to spend time with Blaine in the outdoors hunting, where they were also Hunter Safety Instructors for many. Mom was obsessed with the Utah Jazz team and tried to watch every game while wearing her Jazz clothes and flying her flags. We enjoyed seeing her hoot and holler while she watched the game. Mom will be missed deeply but her legacy and memories will live on forever. Lois is survived by her children John (Micky) Jensen, Mantua; Shirlene Checketts, Mantua; Rod Jensen, Brigham City; Son-in-law, Stacy Checketts, Iowa, 2 brothers Gene Craner, Tremonton, Hal Craner, Vale Oregon. She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lola Jean; a son, Brian; a son-in-law, Charles; a brother, Jim Craner; a sister-in-law, Connie Craner; and one grandson, Travis. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00-10:40am at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. At Mom's request, a graveside service will be held at the Manuta Cemetery on Monday at 11:00am following the viewing. Interment will follow. Leave condolences at www.gfc-utah.com
