Myra Spicer

July 20, 1952 — July 19, 2019

Our loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Myra Patricia “Tris” Wilsted Spicer, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. Tris was born on July 20, 1952 to Harold Dean Wilsted and Emma Gertrude Neal in Berea, Ohio. Growing up Tris was shy and not everyone knew how much she loved adventure. She was often found playing with her friends and siblings in the woods behind their home. She attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where she was the school mascot Waldo the Wildcat. Tris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various capacities in the church; her favorites included working with the young women, the primary and especially the Cub Scouts and working at the Brigham City Temple. Tris had a powerful testimony regarding the gospel, the plan of salvation and the love her Heavenly Parents and her Savior Jesus Christ. Tris loved the outdoors, her father was a scouter and she grew up enjoying God’s creations. At a young age her family went on multiple two-week long canoe trips through Canada, where she developed a great love and appreciation for nature. Tris had a passion for reading, hiking, canoeing and camping and loved to share these passions with her family. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Every year for her birthday Tris and Jack would take their family to Bear Lake for a weeklong camping trip and canoeing. During these trips Tris would always make sure they stopped at least once for a raspberry shake. Tris always had a smile on her face and when asked how she was doing would always respond with a hearty “Great!”, even when she wasn’t. She lived a life of service to her family and those around her and sacrificed so much to make sure others were happy. She was a great example of remaining cheerful in the face of strong opposition and putting the needs of others before her own. Tris is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jack; children, Patricia Kelli Stuart, Kimmerly (Mark) Rollins, and Benjamin Wayne (Kari) Spicer; Eight Grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Stuart, Alyssa, Jaxon, Porter, Garrett and Asher Rollins, Annalise and Madison Spicer; two sisters, LeeAnn Packer and Trudy Oviatt; two brothers, Neal Kirkman Wilsted and Joseph Kim Wilsted. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Dean Wilsted and Harold George Wilsted; and one grandson, Tyler Jason Stuart. Funeral Services will be held at the LDS West Stake center, 895 N 625 W in Brigham City at 11:00 am on Monday, July 29. Viewings will be held on Sunday, July 28 from 5-7 pm at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, and Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 am at the Stake Center. Send condolences to www.gfc-utah.com
