Nell Robinson

Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Nell Robinson, 76, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Brigham City, Utah.

She was born on April 10, 1949 in El Paso, Texas, a daughter of James Norman and Lois Salley Bishop Ray.

Nell married L.C. Strickland on July 7, 1972 in Meridian, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1975. She later married Wallace Eugene Robinson on December 24, 1975 in Mobile, Alabama. They were later divorced.

Nell was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, where she was a gospel singer on radio as a teenager.

Her favorite hobbies included singing songs, cooking, baking and being with family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Becky (J.R.) Morgan; two sons, James D. Robinson and Fredrick DeWayne Robinson both of Alabama; 6 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren, two brothers, Johnny D Ray and James “Jim” W. Ray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, L.C. Strickland, seven grandchildren, her sister, Jo Ann Ray, and nephew, Chris Overbey.

She is loved and remembered by many family members, immediate and extended and adopted alike.

Celebration of LIfe will be held at her daughter’s home on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at High Noon at 157 N 900 E., Brigham City, dress attire requested no dress clothing just normal clothing or Nell might come back and haunt you.

It was Nell’s desire was to be cremated. Funeral services entrusted to Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City, Utah.
